Trigometric Offers Southeast Asia Rarities Certified by NGC and PMG

Malaya Color Trial Specimens that could sell for tens of thousands are dollars are included in the October sale.

Hundreds of rarities certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) and Numismatic Guaranty Company™ (NGC®) are being offered in an upcoming Trigometric sale. Bidding for the four sessions (Session 1, Session 2, Session 3 and Session 4) is currently underway, with the sale’s sessions ending October 8-16, 2022.

One of the top offerings in the sale is a Malaya 1942 1,000 Dollars Color Trial Specimen graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated NET. Only three examples are recorded in the PMG Population Report. Making its debut on the auction block, this rarity (Session 2, lot 2310) has an estimate of RM20,000 to RM400,000 (about $4,300 to $87,000).

Other PMG-certified highlights include:

NGC-certified highlights in the sale include:

  • a group of three Malaysia 1976 Conservation Series: Silver 15 Ringgit (Malaysia Gaur) graded NGC MS 68, Silver 25 Ringgit (Rhinoceros Hornbill) graded NGC MS 68 and Gold 500 Ringgit (Malayan Tapir) graded NGC MS 69 (Session 3, lot 3483), with an estimate of RM28,000 to RM40,000 (about $6,100 to $8,700)
  • a group of five Malaysia 1967 coins (1, 5, 10, 20 and 50 Sen) graded NGC PF 64 Ultra Cameo to PF 67 RD Ultra Cameo (Session 3, lot 3379), with an estimate of RM8,000 to RM12,000 (about $1,700 to $2,600)
  • a Malaysia 1976FM Gold 200 Ringgit graded NGC MS 69 (Session 3, 3485), with an estimate of RM3,000 to RM4,000 (about $650 to $870)
