What makes it special? The back of this banknote celebrates the stunning modern architecture of Qatar, including Lusail Iconic Stadium in Lusail; Aspire Tower in Doha (the focal point of the 15th Asian Games in 2006); and the Sidra Medical and Research Center in Al Rayyan. The stadium will host several 2022 FIFA World Cup matches, including the final on December 18, 2022.
Did you know? This is the first time the World Cup has been held in the Mideast. Until this year, the World Cup (the premier global competition for soccer every four years) has always been held in May, June or July. Qatar's summer heat made it impractical to hold the competition in the summer.
