PMG-graded Hong Kong 'Tea House' Note Tops April Spink Sale

A rare “Tea House” note is among a large selection of collectible Chinese banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) that are available now in Spink Auction CSS92A and CSS92B on April 11-12, 2023. In all, more than 400 PMG-certified banknotes are being offered.
A top highlight of the auction is this Hong Kong, Hong Kong & Shanghai Banking Corporation 1912 100 Dollars graded PMG 20 Very Fine (CSS92A, lot 432) with an estimate of HKD 400,000 to HKD 800,000 (about $51,000 to $102,000). As the only issued example in the PMG Population Report of this catalog number, which is distinguished by the 1912 date, this “Tea House” note is an exceptional rarity.
