Among the PMG-certified highlights is a China / People’s Republic 1951 1,000 Yuan graded PMG 55 About Uncirculated (lot 2266), with an estimate of 250,000 HKD to 350,000 HKD (about $32,000 to $45,000). China issued the First Series Renminbi notes in the late 1940s and early 1950s as part of a currency reform. This high-denomination example showing horses drinking was withdrawn in 1955. Today, only 93 examples of issued notes with this catalog number are recorded in the PMG Population Report, and this one has an above-average grade.
