Hundreds of PMG-certified Polish Notes Pedigreed to the Esteemed Lucow Collection Offered in October Auction

A huge selection of European banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®), with an emphasis on Polish rarities, is being offered in a Warszawskie Centrum Numizmatyczne auction. Bidding is underway for the Auction #83E, which is being held on October 19, 2024.
Among the highlights of the auction is a Poland / Russian Administration 1841 3 Rubel pedigreed to the Lucow Collection and graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 42), with an estimate of about €13,800 (about $15,400). The rarity contains the signature of Józef Gabriel Lubowidzki, who was a member of the Polish Congress in the early 1800s and was the vice president of the Bank of Poland, which was established in 1828. Of this particular catalog number, there are only four examples in the PMG Population Report, with this note being tied for the finest graded among the group.

- a Poland / Russian Administration 1831 1 Zloty Proof pedigreed to the Lucow Collection and graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated (lot 41), with an estimate of about €5,300 (about $5,900)
- a Poland / Russian Administration 1849 1 Rubel pedigreed to the Lucow Collection and graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine (lot 44), with an estimate of about €5,300 (about $5,900)
