Among the offerings is a Kelso, Washington 1902 $5 Red Seal with Serial Number 1 graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated EPQ (lot 1641569). Bidding had already surpassed $7,000 more than a week before bidding closes on this lot on October 27, 2024. Printed for individual US banks, the Red Seal notes were issued early in the 1902 Series of National Bank Notes. National Bank Notes with Serial Number 1 are especially prized by the collecting community, and they sometimes represent the first notes issued by their bank.
