Switzerland and Thailand Top Pops Certified by PMG and NGC Highlight Crown Currency Sale

Two high-grade Switzerland banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are turning heads in an ongoing Crown Currency auction. They are among hundreds of banknotes certified by PMG offered alongside coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Company® (NGC®) in Crown Currency’s Banknotes & Coins 2-Day Auction, which is set to end January 23-24, 2025.
A Switzerland, National Bank 2017 1,000 Franken graded PMG 69 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 735) is a Pick# 79a and has a serial number of 17B3970592. It is featured alongside another Pick #79a with serial number 17C3970592 (lot 736) — just one letter different. This 1,000 Franken is tied with two others as the highest-graded example in the PMG Population Report, with none graded higher.
Several NGC-certified coins are also being offered in the ongoing sale. One of the highlights is this Thailand BE2480 (1937) Half Satang graded NGC MS 66 RB (lot 31). Out of the 171 total examples certified by NGC with the RB designation, this coin is one of the 34 examples graded NGC MS 66 RB with none graded higher, according to the NGC Census.
