It is only fitting that King Charles III now takes his place in the royal lineup on the lovely and historic currency of the Falkland Islands. This new note will be released on Falklands Day (August 14), and it is a great addition to the PMG Registry. Let’s look at the No. 1-ranked PMG Falkland Islands Variety set, found here.

This set dates back to 1938, and the portraits of the British royal monarchs can be seen throughout the various issues. It begins with King George VI and then leads to Queen Elizabeth II. The queen, the longest reigning British monarch in history, logically dominates most of this currency. All examples can be viewed in this impressive, 100% complete slideshow. This top set is loaded with PMG gems for all slots, including the 1977 £1 note, graded PMG 69 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ, a PMG “Top Pop” (and a population of 1).

Alan Collections Malaysia began assembling this set back in 2018, and it is easy to see why he is at the top of the pack. His careful planning led to many upgrades over the years. All notes are a PMG Gem Uncirculated 66 EPQ and above, including the colorful 1990 £50 note, graded PMG Superb Gem Uncirculated 68 EPQ.
