WCN Offers PMG-certified Polish Rarities from the Lucow Collection

More than 250 PMG-certified notes from the renowned collection are being offered at auction in April.

A large selection of historic Polish banknotes from the Lucow Collection that are certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) is available in an ongoing auction, Warszawskie Centrum Numizmatyczne (WCN) Auction 85, which concludes on April 12, 2025.

The Lucow Collection is renowned for its extensive and meticulously curated assortment of Polish banknotes, encompassing various periods and denominations. This collection has been recognized for its historical significance, and collectors now have the opportunity to acquire more than 250 rarities from it. Among them is a Poland / Russian Administration 1850 3 Rubel graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 38), with a starting price of €19,278 (about $21,000), which represents the sole graded example of its catalog number in the PMG Population Report.

  • a Poland / Russian Administration 1858 3 Rubel graded PMG 15 Choice Fine NET (lot 40), with a starting price of €7,711 (about $8,500)
  • a Poland / Russian Administration 1864 1 Rubel graded PMG 35 Choice Very Fine (lot 41), with a starting price of €7,711 (about $8,500)
  • a Poland, Bank Polski 1924 10 Zlotych graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated (lot 110), with a starting price of €7,711 (about $8,500)
  • a Poland, Bank Polski 1919 (ND 1924) 10 Zlotych graded PMG 63 Choice Uncirculated (lot 105), with a starting price of €6,747 (about $7,500)
  • a Poland, Treasury Note 1794 5 Groszy graded PMG 45 Choice Extremely Fine (lot 18), with a starting price of €5,784 (about $6,400)
  • a Poland / Russian Administration 1847 1 Rubel graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 37), with a starting price of €5,784 (about $6,400)
  • a Poland / Russian Administration 1858 1 Rubel graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 39), with a starting price of €5,784 (about $6,400)
  • a Poland / Russian Administration 1866 1 Rubel graded PMG 30 Very Fine (lot 42), with a starting price of €5,784 (about $6,400)
