Wide Array of PMG-certified World Notes Available in Lockdales Auction

More than 300 world banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are being offered in an upcoming sale presented by Lockdales Auctioneers & Valuers. Bidding is already underway for the respected English auction house's Auction 292 - The Lockdales PMG Graded Banknote Sale, which ends on May 8, 2025.
The top note in the sale is a Trinidad & Tobago / British Administration 1939 10 Dollars graded PMG 25 Very Fine (lot 318), with an estimate of £4,000 to £5,000 (about $5,200 to $6,500). According to the auction house, only one other example of this scarce-date note has sold at a major auction in recent years. This is one of only three examples of this note in the PMG Population Report and it is the finest-graded example.
Another PMG highlight in the sale is an India, Reserve Bank ND (1937) 1,000 Rupees graded PMG 30 Very Fine (lot 148), with an estimate of £2,500 to £3,000 (about $3,300 to $3,900). Printed at the end of England's almost two-century rule of India, this high-denomination note features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II's father, King George VI.

- a Bahamas, Central Bank 1974 (ND 1992) 100 Dollars graded PMG 67 Superb Gem Uncirculated EPQ (lot 6), with an estimate of £2,000 to £2,500 (about $2,600 to $3,300)
- a Great Britain, Bank of England 1918-25 £5 graded PMG 40 Extremely Fine (lot 123), with an estimate of £1,500 to £2,000 (about $2,000 to $3,300)
- a Philippines ND (1944) 500 Pesos - Victory Series graded PMG 55 About Uncirculated EPQ (lot 250), with an estimate of £1,500 to £2,000 (about $2,000 to $3,300)
- a Jamaica, Treasury 1918 5/- Shillings graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 172), with an estimate of £1,400 to £1,800 (about $1,800 to $2,300)
- a Great Britain, Bank of England 1934-43 £100 graded PMG 50 About Uncirculated (lot 125), with an estimate of £1,300 to £1,500 (about $1,700 to $2,000)
- a Rhodesia & Nyasaland / British Administration 1956-60 £10 graded PMG 20 Very Fine (lot 260), with an estimate of £1,200 to £1,500 (about $1,600 to $2,000)
