The Bank of Israel will release the last two denominations in its new series of notes by the end of 2017.

Poets Rachel Bluwstein and Leah Goldberg are the subjects of two colorful new notes from the Bank of Israel. Scheduled to be released by the end of 2017, these Specimen notes will be new 20 shekel and 100 shekel denominations.

The 20 NIS will feature red tones and a depiction of poetess Rachel Bluwstein. The front will also display palm tree branches and an actual segment from the poem “Kinneret.” The back will show a view of the Sea of Gallilee shore and a segment from another one of Bluwstein’s poems, “Perhaps it was nothing.”

The 100 NIS will feature poet Leah Goldberg and depict orange tones. Slightly longer than the 20 NIS, this note will have lovely almond tree blossoms on the front and a piece of the poem, “In the land of my love, the almond tree blossoms…” The back will reflect a group of gazelles and a piece of the poem, “White Days.”

For security features, both the 20 NIS and the 100 NIS will have a color-changing security thread, raised ink, a security foil stripe, microtext, color-changing ink, and transparent ink, among other features.
