PMG-graded Notes Highlight the Heritage FUN Currency Auctions

A Zanzibar 1928 10 Rupees note certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) commanded $87,000 and led the way at the Heritage Auctions World Currency Signature Auction, held January 10, 2019, at the FUN Show in Orlando, Florida.
This note is part of selections from the Minot Collection which included 192 notes mostly from Africa, the vast majority of which were certified by PMG.

Other PMG-certified world notes that achieved remarkable results included:
- Lot 28051 - 1911 Dominion of Canada $1,000 Specimen, graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated. Price realized: $43,200.
- Lot 28013 - 1870 Manitoba $1 Overprint Payable at Toronto, graded PMG 6 Good. Price realized: $38,400.
- Lot 28801 - 1941 Panama, Banco Central 20 Balboa Specimen, graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ. Price realized: $38,400.
- Lot 28089 - 1924 $50,000 Front and Back Proofs, graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated. Price realized: $36,000.
- Lot 28085 - 1925 Canada $500 Specimen, graded PMG 64 Choice Uncirculated. Price realized: $31,200.
- Lot 28023 - 1878 Canada $2 Payable at St. John, graded PMG 10 Very Good. Price realized: $31,200.
- Lot 28004 - 1866 Canada $1 Payable at Toronto, graded PMG 15 Choice Fine. Price realized: $26,400.
- Lot 28800 - 1941 Panama Banco Central $10 , graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ. Price realized: $25,200.
- Lot 28587 - 1943 France 500 Francs Specimen Proof, graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ. Price realized: $20,400.
- Lot 28640 - 1916-1923 Hong Kong, China, Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corp. 5 Dollars, graded PMG 45 Choice Extremely Fine. Price realized: $20,400.
- Lot 28590 - 1958 France Banque de France 50,000 Francs Specimen Proof, graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ. Price realized: $19,200.
A separate auction for US currency was also held in conjunction with the FUN Show.
The top US note was an 1905 $20 Gold Certificate, graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ. It realized a price of $75,000.
