PMG Recognizes Microprint Error on Australia Notes

Paper Money Guaranty (PMG) will attribute the newly discovered microprint error on the Australia 2018 50 Dollars. The notes gained international media attention in May 2019 when it was revealed that a word was misspelled on millions of notes.

In the microprint on the back of the note, the word RESPONSIBILITY is missing its final 'I' in a quote to the left of the image of Edith Cowan, Australia's first female member of Parliament. On the note, her quote reads in part: "IT IS A GREAT RESPONSIBILTY TO BE THE ONLY WOMAN HERE..."

To have PMG attribute the microprint error on the PMG label, submitters should select the Variety service (+$8) with any tier on the PMG Submission Form and write Microprint Error.

The Reserve Bank of Australia plans to correct the error when additional notes are printed.
