NGC and PMG Highlights in July 2020 Spink Online Auction

World coins certified by Numismatic Guaranty Corporation® (NGC®) and banknotes certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) highlight a Spink sale in Hong Kong, China, in July. Among the most anticipated coins in the Numismatic Collector’s Series sale is a rare Indonesia 1974 Gold 100,000 Rupiah graded NGC PF 69 Ultra Cameo. The coin shows a Komodo dragon, a threatened species native only to Indonesia. It has an estimated sales price of HK$48,000 to HK$60,000 (about $6,200 to $7,800 USD).

Other NGC-certified highlights include:

• a China 1901-08 Szechuan Province L&M-345 Silver Dollar graded NGC AU Details, with an estimate of HK$8,000 to HK$18,000 (about $1,000 to $2,300 USD)
• a China 2002 Fan Shaped Gold 200 Yuan graded NGC MS 69, with an estimate of HK$12,500 to HK$15,000 (about $1,600 to $1,900 USD)
• an Iran (1975) Gold 5 Pahlavi graded NGC MS 66, with an estimate of HK$12,000 to HK$15,000 (about $1,500 to $1,900 USD)
• a China 1996 Gold 50 Yuan (Sun Yat-Sen 130th Birth Anniversary) graded NGC PF 70 Ultra Cameo, with an estimate of HK$10,500 to HK$13,000 (about $1,400 to $1,700 USD)
• a Attica, Athens, Silver Tetradrachm circa 440-404 B.C. graded NGC Ancients Choice About Uncirculated, with 5/5 Strike and 4/5 Surface, with an estimate of with an estimate of HK$7,500 to HK$9,000 (about $900 to $1,200 USD)
• a China 1984 Silver 10 Yuan Panda graded NGC PF 68 Cameo, with an estimate of HK$4,000 to HK$12,000 (about $500 to $1,500 USD)

Among the most anticipated notes in the sale is a rare Hong Kong 1936-37 5 Dollars graded PMG 53 About Uncirculated. According to Spink, this is the second-highest-graded Mercantile Bank of India Ltd. note to come to market this year. It has an estimated sales price of HK$85,000 to HK$100,000 (about $10,900 to $12,900 USD).
