PMG-certified Zanzibar Note Among Rarities Offered in Spink Sales
Posted on 4/22/2021
A rare note from Zanzibar certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) is the top lot in a series of sales being held in London by renowned auction house Spink. Bidding is underway for the four auctions, which will conclude April 26-28, 2021.
The Zanzibar / British Administration 1908-16 100 Rupees graded PMG 30 Very Fine NET (lot 301) has an estimate of £40,000 to £60,000 (about $55,800 to $83,700 USD). Collectors cherish these scarce notes from this area on the coast of modern-day Tanzania that was a British protectorate a century ago. The 100 Rupees is particularly hard to find.
