Rare Singapore Notes Certified by PMG Featured in Mavin Auction

Hundreds of rare banknotes from Southeast Asia and elsewhere that have been certified by Paper Money Guaranty® (PMG®) are featured in an upcoming sale by Mavin International. Bids are currently being accepted for Auction 58, which the prestigious Singapore-based auction house will present on November 27, 2021.

The top lot in the sale is a Singapore 2015 Commemorative 10 Dollars with Serial Number 1 graded PMG 66 Gem Uncirculated EPQ (Lot 161). It has an estimate of SG$46,000 (about $34,000 USD) and up.

To celebrate 50 years of nation-building, Singapore issued a series of commemorative notes in 2015: one in the $50 denomination and five in the $10 denomination with different themes. (The theme of the note in this auction is "Safety & Security.") The PMG-certified Serial Number 1 for the 2015 $50 Commemorative realized about $400,000 USD in a Mavin sale in November 2018, one of the highest prices ever paid for a world banknote.
